Argentina: The 18th Largest Country In The World


Located in the southern portion of South America the country of Argentina is runner up to only Brazil for the largest country on the continent. Argentina also holds the status of being home to the lowest and highest points on the continent. You can be as low as 40m below sea level in Salinas Chicas or as high as 6,960m on the mountain peak of Cerro Aconcagua. Sporting a population of around 40 million people Argentina is not a lonely place. Located at the very southern portion of Argentina is the famous Strait Of Magellan, which offers an option for boats to get from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic without going all the way around Cape Horn.

Buenos Aires is the capitol of Argentina. Sporting a population of some 14 million inhabitants makes this popular destination one of the ten largest on the planet. The city is known for adventure and fun. As with any large metropolitan area you have to keep your wits about you but as long as you follow the basic rules of tourism you will find this city to be most welcoming and pleasure filled. The nightlife here is legendary and the food can be an experience all of it's own. The culture is rich and history adding excitement and charm to any excursion. The cost for most accommodations in the area is very friendly and should only add to the cities appeal. The national dance in Argentina is the Tango and you don't want to visit without giving it a whirl.

You can even find mouth- watering pizza in the capitol city that would warm the heart of any Italian. The service can be a little rough in Argentina but if you are patient and follow the basic rules of good traveling, Argentina can be a great destination.
